Form Load and Save – We’re working to modify how ProForma loads and saves data, allowing updates to be made on a field-by-field basis. This sets the stage for improved auditing and logging within Jira’s issue/request history, as well as allowing ProForma to integrate with more apps, including Insight.


  • Enhanced Export – 22 February 2021 – Filter down to the desired issues and export ProForma fields along with selected Jira fields; new APIs for changing the Internal/External setting of a form and for copying a form from one issue to another.

  • In-app Form Templates – 18 November 2020 – Hundreds of ready-to-use form templates are now available in the app. You can use these templates as-is, modify them to meet your teams' practices or embed them in another form.

  • Updated Forms List, New Automation UI, Advanced Settings for Open Forms, In-app Notifications – 12 October 2020 – New forms list UI which makes it easier to copy forms; improvements to automation UI; advanced settings for the “Leave form open” option when using forms to create issues/requests; “What’s New” in-app notifications.

  • Multi-select Dropdown, Multi-lingual Configurations – 24 August 2020 – A multi-select dropdown question type has been added; The Configuration page is now available in 25 languages; improvements were made to the spreadsheet download, data connections, and workflow validators.

  • Direct Link to Issue Forms, Clickable URL Fields – 28 July 2020 – You can link directly to an Issue Form; input in URL fields can be rendered as a clickable link when the form is in view mode; linking to the Jira Components field is now supported; ProForma now recognizes a default assignee.

  • Images, Automation for Jira, Form Settings UI – 30 June 2020 – The ability to add images to forms was released in early access; a new action in Automation for Jira allows you to copy ProForma forms from the trigger issue; a new UI was released for the Form Settings tab.

  • Confluence-like forms in Jira - 27 April 2019 - A massive reworking of the form builder and form system. This lays the foundation for our form format for the next three to five years. It also gives many new layout options and rich PDFs.

  • Leave Form Open after Request Created – 02 September 2019 – A form setting allows you to keep forms open (editable) even after the customer creates the request. Use this feature for long forms that need to be filled out in stages, or for iterative processes with a lot of feedback going back and forth.

  • Email, URL and User Lookup Question Types, Regex Pattern Matching – 28 August 2019 – The form builder now includes email and URL question types, as well as the ability to validate text fields with Regex pattern matching.

  • Pull External Data for Lookup Questions – 1 August 2019 – ProForma now integrates with third-party APIs, allowing you to pull external data to populate choice lists on forms.

  • Create and Attach PDF on Submit – 11 July 2019 – Use this form setting to automatically create and attach PDFs of a form when it’s submitted.

  • Integration with Configuration Manager – 3 July 2019 – ProForma (Server) now supports Configuration Manager for Jira (version 6.3.4+), allowing you to easily migrate form designs from one project or instance to another project or Jira-instance.

  • ProForma for Data Center – 31 May 2019 – The Data Center version of ProForma, with full feature parity, is now available in the Atlassian Marketplace.

  • Integration with Refined Structure and Theme JSD – 29 April 2019 – ProForma now integrates with Refined Structure and Theme, allowing you to create a useful, branded portal that collects all the data service agents need.

  • Form Automation  – 8 April 2019 – The form builder now lets you set rules to automatically add a form when an issue transitions to a designated status, automatically transition an issue when a form is submitted, prevent an issue from being transitioned if a designated form(s) has not been submitted.

  • Support for Jira 8 and JSD 4 – 4 February 2019 – Support for Jira 8 and JSD 4 (Server); fixed compatibility issue with Refined Theme; allows users to add forms to an issue if they have permission to access the issue, but not the project.

  • Issue Forms – 5 December 2018 – Issue forms allow you to create Jira issues directly from a ProForma form (rather than adding the form to an existing issue). Users can access forms from the Jira navigation bar and an issue is created once the form is submitted. This is a great way to ensure that you get all of the needed information when a new issue is created.

  • ProForma Lite – 05 September 2018 –We released ProForma Lite, a limited version of ProForma that you can install and use for free. ProForma Lite includes all of ProForma features and lets you create up to 3 forms without subscribing to ProForma or purchasing a ProForma license.

  • Dynamic Fields – 03 September 2018 – The ProForma form builder has been upgraded with dynamic fields, allowing you to use conditional logic to show or hide form sections depending on the response to a previous question.

  • Form Builder Upgrade – 16 August 2018 – The ProForma form builder has been upgraded to allow you to move sections and questions within a form.

  • Internal/External Forms – 2 August 2018 – Agents can now set forms as either internal (accessible only from the issue) or external (accessible from the issue and the JSD portal). A single request can include multiple forms on the portal, and forms that have been submitted can be edited from the portal

  • Atlassian Cloud Security Verification – 24 July 2019– ThinkTilt renewed its certification for ProForma in Atlassian’s Cloud Security program.

  • ProForma for Jira Server, No Docker Required – 03 May 2018, ProForma for Jira Server no longer requires Docker to run! ProForma has been re-engineered to run natively within Jira, making the installation and setup process much simpler

  • Template Library update – 10 January 2018 – We released a new batch of process templates in our Template Library.  We now offer a full suite of templates for Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Project Management and Risk Management teams.

  • Teaming up for Business Teams – 22 November 2107 – We launched a new partnership with Rachel Wright, author of the Jira Strategy Admin Workbook. We’ll be sharing Rachel’s expertise in a series of guest posts and we have built some of her handy templates into ProForma with more to come.

  • Export form responses – 17 November 2017 You can now export form data to a spreadsheet.

  • Linking to Jira fields – 10 October 2017 – We’re pleased to say that with 2.0 you can link fields in your forms to Jira fields. When the content of a field is changed in the form, it will also update the linked Jira field empowering teams to leverage JQL and Jira reports for managing and measuring their processes.

  • Validation  – 10 October 2017 – Validation rules can now be set for any form field, allowing your teams to control the information they collect and enforce business rules.

  • Status Page – 07 August 2017–  As part of our commitment to earning customer confidence, we’ve implemented a status page so you can check on our current status, uptime reports and any recent incidents for our primary components.

  • Atlassian Cloud Security Verification – 02 August 2017– ProForma was approved as part of Atlassian’s Cloud Security program– a credential we will renew on an annual basis in order to identify and address any vulnerabilities.

  • Automated testing – 12 July 2017 ––  In order to ensure that our user interface is always functioning, regardless of changes out there in the Cloud, we implemented ongoing, automated testing with Ghost Inspector. Our tests run four times per day and we review the recorded sessions to make sure everything’s going smoothly.

  • Support and documentation – 12 July 2017 – We enhanced our support services and launched a new documentation site.

  • ProForma for JIRA Server – 12 May 2017 – We released a server version of ProForma which is supplied as a Docker image – a self-contained server that you run on your network.

  • ProForma v 1.1.21 & Template Library update  – 11 April 2017 – We released a new version of ProForma with a revamped user interface and individual form templates to make it faster and easier for your teams to create the forms they need.

  • Lock form – 08 March 2017– Added ability to lock submitted forms so that form responses cannot be edited.

  • Associate forms with request types – 03 January 2017 – Added support for associating recommended forms to request types. Added a Description property to each question in the form builder for hints, examples or extra description.

  • Support for more question types  – 15 November 2016 – We added date and time fields to the form builder, as well as choice lists (dropdown, single choice, multiple choice).

  • Expansion of the Template Library – 10 October 2016 – We added dozens of new process templates for teams like HR and Marketing to our library.

  • Initial release of ProForma – 19 September 2016 – The first public release of the ProForma custom forms and templates for Jira.
